ATCOR Workflow for IMAGINE - FAQ
I know the product ATCOR for IMAGINE. What is the difference to ATCOR Workflow for IMAGINE?
Users of the old ATCOR for IMAGINE with a valid software maintenance contract can migrate to the new ATCOR Workflow for IMAGINE at attractive special conditions.
Can I test ATCOR Workflow for IMAGINE before buying it?
On request, we give out a free trial version that is limited to 15 days of usage.
Where can I buy ATCOR Workflow for IMAGINE?
ATCOR is available either directly from GEOSYSTEMS GmbH or your local Hexagon Geospatial distributor. Please see the ATCOR Workflow for IMAGINE Purchase Website for details.
Does ATCOR Workflow für IMAGINE support hardware keys?
Currently ATCOR Workflow for IMAGINE cannot be licensed for a hardware key/dongle.
Which sensors are currently supported by ATCOR Workflow for IMAGINE?
ASTER VNIR (3 Bands)
ASTER VNIR+SWIR (9 Bands)
ASTER VNIR+SWIR+TIR (14 Bands)
Landsat-8 MS (8 Bands)
Landsat-8 MS+TIRS (10 Bands)
SAC-C / MMRS
Sentinel-2 10m BGRN
Sentinel-2 13 Bands
WorldView-2 4-Band MS
WorldView-2 8-Band MS
WorldView-3 16-Band MS
WorldView-3 4-Band MS
WorldView-3 8-Band MS
WorldView-4 4-Band MS
The sensor I am using is not mentioned in the list of supported sensors. What shall I do?
In case a sensor does not show up in the list, any other sensor can be selected instead, provided it has the same (or very similar) spectral bands. A similar spatial resolution is not required. For sensors with pointing capabilities the options also should be similar.
On request, it is possible to integrate sensors into ATCOR Workflow for IMAGINE. The sensor specifications need to be known or being provided by the customer. Please contact us at email@example.com.
What are the system requirements to run ATCOR Workflow für IMAGINE?
For ATCOR Workflow für IMAGINE the system requirements for ERDAS IMAGINE are valid. ATCOR Workflow for IMAGINE needs a running ERDAS IMAGINE license (Minimum: IMAGINE Essentials) and is available for PC systems only. In order to use the spatial model operators for customized image analysis process chains, an IMAGINE Professional is needed. For using ATCOR Workflow for IMAGINE as unattended batch process, an extra commercial IDL license is needed.
When should I use the module ATCOR-2 and when the module ATCOR-3?
ATCOR Workflow for IMAGINE includes both ATCOR-2 and ATCOR-3. According to the type of region and available data sets, you choose the appropriate module. ATCOR-2 is the version of choice if the terrain covered by the imagery to be calibrated is almost flat or if a proper Digital Elevation Model (DEM) is not available. ATCOR-2 can also be used for fast checks and preliminary testing. For non-flat areas ATCOR-3 is recommended. For ATCOR-3 a DEM is required.
Which pixel size should have the DEM to get satisfying results with ATCOR-3?
The pixel size of the DEM should be at least the pixel size of the image you want to process. The more rugged the terrain, the higher the spatial resolution of the DEM should be.
How do I have to prepare the DEM in order to use it with ATCOR-3?
No special preparation of the DEM for use in ATCOR-3 is needed. Resampling and reprojection is done automatically. Inclination, exposition and other data sets will be generated by the DEM automatically also.
Can I use ATCOR Workflow for IMAGINE with my pan-sharpened images?
No, ATCOR requires the original spectral information as collected by the sensor. Pan-Sharpening is an irreversible process. The original information, i.e. at-sensor radiance, cannot be restored. So the retrieval of surface reflectance would fail. The same applies to image data that were modified by Dynamic Range Adjustment (DRA). Only linear spectral transformations are allowed provided that the transformation parameters are known. These transformation parameters have to be considered via the calibration file used as input for ATCOR.
Can I use ATCOR Workflow for IMAGINE to correct data from hyperspectral satellite sensors?
Currently, you can atmospherically correct images of panchromatic and multispectral sensors with ATCOR Workflow for IMAGINE.
